Jada Kingdom and Shaneil Muir have joined forces on \u201cTears,\u201d a moody, unapologetic dancehall ballad that turns heartbreak into a full-on \u201cwicked gyal\u201d moment.<\/p>\n
Produced by Yo Christon, the track blends modern dancehall with rock elements, \u201cgiving both women space to unpack love gone wrong while ultimately choosing themselves,\u201d entertainment publicist, Paul Thom, of The Thom Brand, told Caribbean Life on Monday, Sept. 21.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe title may be \u2018Tears,\u2019 but the record is far from a traditional heartbreak ballad,\u201d said Thom, stating that Jada opens by reflecting on red flags, bad decisions, and putting too much faith in the wrong person before landing on a simple realization.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe would rather be alone than keep giving her heart to someone who does not deserve it,\u201d he added. \u201cShaneil brings her own unapologetic perspective, matching Jada’s energy as the two turn heartbreak into a declaration of independence, confidence, and self-worth.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sonically, Thom said \u201cTears\u201d sits between a ballad and a dancehall record, with guitar-driven production giving the track a rock edge.<\/p>\n
He said Jada has long toyed with rock influences throughout her music, but 2025’s \u201cG.A.D.\u201d brought that side of her artistry into sharper focus, \u201cpairing searing guitar riffs with Caribbean rhythms to create one of her most recognizable records.\u201d<\/p>\n
Thom said \u201cTears\u201d takes that influence \u201csomewhere more vulnerable, allowing the guitars to carry the emotional weight while the dancehall rhythm keeps the record grounded in Jamaica.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said there is also a full-circle connection behind the boards.<\/p>\n
Thom said Yo Christon, who produced \u201cTears,\u201d also produced \u201cG.A.D.\u201d and received recognition for his work on the Dancehall Song of the Year-nominated record at this year’s Caribbean Music Awards.<\/p>\n
Thom said \u201cTears\u201d arrives as Jada continues one of the strongest runs of her career.<\/p>\n
In 2026, he said she has released two projects, “Just A Girl In A Money Man’s World” and “New Religion,” the latter featuring one collaboration with Foggieraw, while maintaining a steady stream of features and collaborations.<\/p>\n
Thom said Jada recently followed with the \u201cMi Seh\u201d remix with Govana, the \u201cSoul For Sale\u201d remix featuring Kraff, “Move” with Baby Cham and \u201cDweet and Done\u201d on Notnice’s Walk Out Riddim.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe momentum is translating directly to listeners,\u201d he said. \u201c\u2019Tears\u2019 is currently Jada’s top-performing song across platforms, while the official music video has surpassed 1 million views on YouTube.\u201d<\/p>\n
From \u201cG.A.D.\u201d to \u201cTears,\u201d Thom said Jada she is \u201cbuilding a catalog that feels increasingly genre-less, with each release adding another piece to a legacy that is still taking shape.\u201d<\/p>\n
