Although organizers disclaim associations with the White House, a dump Trump movement erupted less than 48 hours after announcement of the lineup.<\/p>\n
Five of the nine nightly attractions invited to perform reneged on fulfilling their initial promise.<\/p>\n
They all claim they were misinformed when they were first contacted.<\/p>\n
Apparently assuming the event would include either a bipartisan or non-partisan agenda, a written agreement stated otherwise.<\/p>\n
According to dissenters, discrepancies align with partisan leanings to the Trump administration.<\/p>\n
Young MC was first to abstain from the 16-day event. He said the reason for his decision to decline the invitation was because he was misled.<\/p>\n
Soon afterwards, country singer Martina McBride opted out and Brett Michaels, winner of Donald Trump’s TV reality performance show also rejected the invitation.<\/p>\n
In a statement he said: “Unfortunately what was presented to us as a celebration of our country has evolved into something much more divisive than what I agreed to be a part of.”<\/p>\n
Each talent cited a blatant partisan agenda, the reason for deciding against the month-end salute.<\/p>\n
Others named for the bookings include Millie Vanilli, (Fab Morvan, the sole member of the former duo) Vanilla Ice, Flo Rida and C&C Music Factory.<\/p>\n
In a message posted on social media, a Prince- founded performance group reportedly stated: “Contrary to rumor, Morris Day and the Time will not perform at the Great American State Fair.”<\/p>\n
In response to the tsunami, President Trump took to Truth Social on Saturday posting “cancel it.”<\/p>\n
The president amplified his anger by insulting the slew of unwilling talents calling them “third rate” “overpriced” and “boring.”<\/p>\n
And along with recriminations the Republican leader proposed a Make America Great Again rally which he said he would headline as the main attraction.<\/p>\n
