{"id":5952,"date":"2026-05-12T19:13:26","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T19:13:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/islandflavaradio.com\/index.php\/2026\/05\/12\/konshens-drops-pool-party-2-0-album\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T19:13:26","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T19:13:26","slug":"konshens-drops-pool-party-2-0-album","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/islandflavaradio.com\/index.php\/2026\/05\/12\/konshens-drops-pool-party-2-0-album\/","title":{"rendered":"Konshens drops \u2018Pool Party 2.0\u2019 album\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jamaican dancehall star Konshens released Pool Party 2.0 on Friday, May 8, the follow-up to his widely acclaimed Pool Party album that helped reinforce his position as one of dancehall\u2019s leading crossover acts.<\/p>\n<p><span>The original installment generated international attention, with records like \u201cBack Dat Azz Up,\u201d and highlighted Konshens\u2019 ability to merge dancehall with club, Caribbean, and global influences, according to Brooklyn-based, Jamaican-born entertainment publicist Ronnie Tomlinson of Destine Media.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>She told Caribbean Life that the 12-track album is driven by collaborations with producers and artists from across the Caribbean and international music markets.<\/p>\n<p><span>Tomlinson said the focus single from the album is \u201cLike We,\u201d featuring dancehall icon Beenie Man.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe track is a modern reimagining of Beenie Man\u2019s 1996 hit \u2018Old Dog,\u2019 originally produced by legendary dancehall producer Dave Kelly for Madhouse Records and featured on the influential \u2018Stink\u2019 riddim,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Co-produced by Dave Kelly, Tomlinson said \u201cLike We\u201d bridges generations of dancehall by \u201cblending the energy and nostalgia of the original record with a contemporary production approach aimed at today\u2019s global dancehall audience.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Tomlinson said the collaboration also marks a reunion between one of dancehall\u2019s foundational hitmakers and one of the genre\u2019s modern crossover stars.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>She said the project\u2019s production is led primarily by IZYBEATS and SUBMACHINE ENT, who shape much of the album\u2019s sonic direction.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Tomlinson said additional production comes from Dave Kelly, Tony Kelly, Jonny Blaze, Stadic, King Kosa and Symon Dice.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>She said featured artists on the album include UK-based dancehall artist Stylo G, Chudney J and Ayetian.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Tomlinson said among the notable records on the project are \u201cPerfect Timing\u201d produced by King Kosa and Jonny Blaze, \u201cRum Club\u201d produced by Jonny Blaze and Stadic, and \u201cSouth Side\u201d produced by Symon Dice.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Additional musical contributions include lead guitar by Xeryus Gittens on \u201cShe Jus Wah Wine,\u201d with publishing administered through Songs of Universal (BMI), Tomlinson said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe album blends dancehall with Caribbean, Latin and international influences while maintaining a cohesive sound rooted in Jamaican party culture,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamaican dancehall star Konshens released Pool Party 2.0 on Friday, May 8, the follow-up to his widely acclaimed Pool Party album that helped reinforce his position as one of dancehall\u2019s leading crossover acts.
