{"id":5904,"date":"2026-01-27T23:14:45","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T23:14:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/islandflavaradio.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/27\/go-go-icon-pam-ward-scores-female-singer-of-the-year\/"},"modified":"2026-01-27T23:14:45","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T23:14:45","slug":"go-go-icon-pam-ward-scores-female-singer-of-the-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/islandflavaradio.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/27\/go-go-icon-pam-ward-scores-female-singer-of-the-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Go-Go icon Pam Ward scores Female Singer of the Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>It was a triumphant moment for D.C.\u2019s own Pam Ward, who was named Go-Go\u2019s Female Singer of the Year 2026 during the genre\u2019s 50th anniversary celebration at the iconic Lincoln Theatre.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Caribbean entertainment publicist Flair Lindsey told Caribbean Life on Monday, Jan. 26, that Ward was honored during the milestone event.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Lindsey, of Acclaim PR, said that the 2026 Go-Go Awards honored five decades of D.C.\u2019s official music, \u201ccelebrating legends, pioneers, and the next generation carrying the Bounce Beat forward.\u201d<br \/>\nShe said the star-studded evening featured performances spanning Go-Go and Hip-Hop, with Joe Clair and Jay Cole as hosts, and was sponsored by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>For Ward, the win represents nearly two decades of dedication, resilience, and love for the culture.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cI am grateful to be recognized as the Go-Go Female Singer of the Year after 18 years of working in this industry,\u201d said Ward. \u201cThere are so many incredible ladies in my category \u2014 it was truly an honor just to be nominated.<br \/>\n\u201cI was honestly surprised to walk away with the win,\u201d she added. \u201cThis is really special to me because I grew up on Go-Go music. It\u2019s in my heart and soul \u2014 especially during Go-Go\u2019s 50th anniversary.<br \/>\n\u201cI\u2019m truly grateful to be able to do what I love and have that love returned by so many people who support me,\u201d Ward continued.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>A winning season for the D.C. native, Ward\u2019s momentum continues beyond the awards stage.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Lindsey said Ward has also been officially booked for the upcoming Soul Train Cruise, sailing Feb. 1\u20138, 2026, aboard Holland America Line\u2019s Eurodam, departing from Fort Lauderdale with stops in St. Thomas and St. Maarten.<br \/>\nCelebrating its 15th sailing, Lindsey said the Soul Train Cruise \u2014 known as \u201cThe Hippest Trip at Sea\u201d \u2014 will feature more than 50 live shows, dance classes with original Soul Train dancers, artist Q&amp;As, and themed parties.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>She said the lineup includes legendary acts such as Kool &amp; The Gang, Johnny Gill, Jeffrey Osborne, Morris Day &amp; The Time, The Ohio Players, The S.O.S.
