{"id":5875,"date":"2025-12-01T18:40:40","date_gmt":"2025-12-01T18:40:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/islandflavaradio.com\/index.php\/2025\/12\/01\/us1m-goal-for-star-studded-jamaica-strong-relief-concert\/"},"modified":"2025-12-01T18:40:40","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T18:40:40","slug":"us1m-goal-for-star-studded-jamaica-strong-relief-concert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/islandflavaradio.com\/index.php\/2025\/12\/01\/us1m-goal-for-star-studded-jamaica-strong-relief-concert\/","title":{"rendered":"US$1M goal for star-studded Jamaica Strong Relief Concert"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Producers of the Jamaica Strong Relief Concert are aiming to raise US$1 million at their star-studded benefit event, slated for Friday, Dec. 12, at the UBS Arena in New York.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThis is New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania \u2013 the whole USA coming together,\u201d Kacy Rankine, co-producer of the show and CEO of Roadblock Radio, told Caribbean Life on Monday.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cWe\u2019re going to send something big to Jamaica,\u201d he added.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Rankine&#8217;s comment came just days after Jammins Entertainment CEO George Crooks declared, at the recently held \u201cJamaica Strong\u201d relief radiothon in Queens, that his goal also is \u201cto make at least a US$ million for the Jamaica Strong Relief Concert.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cThat is the minimum we&#8217;re looking for at this event,\u201d he said, stating that the goal reflects the scale of the devastation in Jamaica and the strength of the Diaspora to answer the call.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Organizers announced that the New York relief concert at UBS Arena will feature GRAMMY-winning artist Shaggy, Sean Paul, KES, Inner Circle, Ky-Mani Marley, Aidonia, Chronic Law, T.O.K., Gramps Morgan, Richie Stephens, Mikey Spice, Reggae Queen Marcia Griffiths, I-Octane, and gospel singer Kevin Downwell.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Rankine said NBC TV Voice Season 5 winner Tessanne Chin is also slated to perform at the event.<\/div>\n<div>He recalled that during Chin\u2019s reign, she was actually invited by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama to perform at the White House.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The historic event, produced under the \u201cI Love Jamaica Concert Series\u201d in partnership with the Government of Jamaica, will raise critical funds for the nation\u2019s official Hurricane Relief &amp; Recovery Fund and other registered charity organizations.
