According to Haitian-American entertainment publicist Marie Driven, Trinidadian-born music artist Blu Lyon is back and making waves.<\/p>\n
Driven, the managing director of the Brooklyn-based entertainment company, PlaybookMG, told <\/span>Caribbean Life<\/span><\/strong> on Monday, Sept. 6, that Blu Lyon recently \u201clit up popular DJ AGOline\u2019s livestream, earning rave reactions from fans.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n He also headlined and promoted his own concert in New York City, \u201cwhich featured some of the community\u2019s favorite Caribbean artists,\u201d Driven said. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe exclusive event gave fans a taste of what\u2019s to come, with live performances that showcased Blu\u2019s growth as both an artist and producer,\u201d she added. \u201cAmong the highlights was his performance of \u2018Summa Haat,\u2019 a single quickly gaining traction with DJs across the Caribbean and Diaspora.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n Driven said talent runs deep in Blu Lyon\u2019s family. <\/span><\/p>\n Born Austin Lyons, Jr., Driven said Blu Lyon is the son of legendary Trinidadian calypsonian Super Blue and the brother of Soca powerhouse Fay-Ann Lyons. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cRaised in Brooklyn, Blu was influenced by both American and West Indian culture,\u201d Driven said. \u201cWhen his mother faced challenges as a single parent, he spent much of his later childhood in Trinidad with his grandmother, where the island\u2019s constant pulse of music fueled his passion to create.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThat passion has grown into an undeniable skill,\u201d she added. <\/span><\/p>\n A versatile recording artist and producer, Driven said Blu Lyon recently produced Dexta Daps\u2019 trailblazing single \u201cWhine Pon Me,<\/span>\u201d \u201c<\/span>which is making major noise in the Caribbean music scene.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n Driven said that, over the years, Blu Lyon has carved out a respected name in the industry. <\/span><\/p>\n She said he has produced for dancehall giants, including Vybz Kartel, Mad Cobra, Mr. Easy, Mega Banton, Dexta Daps, and Maestro Don. <\/span><\/p>\n As a performer, Driven said Blu Lyon has opened for Ryan Leslie, Fetty Wap, Juelz Santana, Frisco Kid, Dexta Daps, and Funkmaster Flex. <\/span><\/p>\n Driven said Blu Lyon\u2019s journey began in high school, where he fused hip hop with dancehall and honed his creative voice. <\/span><\/p>\n By college, she said his talent had caught the attention of Sony Music and associates of Murder Inc.
