Jamaican ’90s dancehall dancer Bruck Up, whose real name is George Adams, says Beyonc\u00e9’s 2022 hit song, “Move,” featuring the vocals of iconic Jamaican singer, songwriter, model, and actress Grace Jones and Nigerian singer Tems, was done in Jamaican patois.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Queen Bee, Tems and Grace are heard on the chorus singing, ‘Brukup, it’s Brukup, it’s Brukup (Brukup)\/Humble, like we <\/span>pon<\/span> the come up,'” Bruck Up told <\/span>Caribbean Life<\/span><\/strong> on Monday. “It is a big up to me for creating the 90s’ Bruck Up’ dance.”<\/span><\/p>\n

New York-based Jamaican entertainment publicist Anthony “ER Guru” Turner noted that Bruck Up was a local star in Jamaica in the 1990s, who was booked on all significant stage shows and was featured in popular videos like Patra’s “Romantic Call<\/span>“<\/span> and Snagga <\/span>Puss’s <\/span>“Tatie.<\/span>“<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“I first made a name in Jamaica appearing on all of the big concerts with the reggae and dancehall artists of the day,<\/span>“<\/span> Bruck Up said.<\/span><\/p>\n

After migrating to the US, he said he garnered international notoriety for his cameo appearances in Busta <\/span>Rhymes’s <\/span>“Do You Wanna Party with Me<\/span>“<\/span> and <\/span>Canibus’s <\/span>“Gone Till November,” which featured Wycliffe Jean and R. Kelly.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bruck Up said that in 2009, he changed focus from dancing to DJing and hit the jackpot, snagging a collaboration titled “Sunshades<\/span>“<\/span> with Platinum-selling DJ Shaggy.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I consider myself blessed to have my first commercial single with Shaggy,<\/span>“<\/span> Bruck Up said.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said his follow-up song, “Cry,<\/span>“<\/span> racked up over 4 million hits on Spotify and has garnered over 1 million views on YouTube to date.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bruck Up said her returned to the studio earlier this yar, cooking up another track that he is confident will be a summer banger.<\/span><\/p>\n

“<\/span>I have done some vocal training and have a new sound and song titled ‘Good Life<\/span>‘<\/span> that is ready to take the world by storm,<\/span>“<\/span> he said, stating that Rickup\/Virgin Records are distributing the song while the video was released on YouTube a week ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

“My team is putting some muscle behind the promotions of ‘Good Life<\/span>‘<\/span> to break the track nationally,<\/span>“<\/span> said Bruck Up, disclosing that last Sunday, he performed at the 42nd International Reggae & World Music Awards at the Coral Springs Center for the Art in South Florida, where he shared the stage with host Oliver Samuels and performers Richie Stephens, D’Angel, Lloyd Parks, Nigy Boy, Wayne Wonder, and Everton Blender.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I crushed it!<\/span>“<\/span> he exclaimed. “I came dressed like a superstar. The people were amazed to see me and my performance with Black Blingaz, which set the mood for the entire production.<\/span><\/p>\n
