Legendary reggae superstar Bob Marley’s look-alike Dinho da Rastaman is seeking to launch his solo singing career. <\/span><\/p>\n

“Those who have seen roots reggae singer Dinho da Rastaman perform live say his raw talent and charisma are contagious. He also looks a lot like Bob Marley, which has led some to ask if he is the child of the late Reggae King,” Neville Muir, Dinho da Rastaman’s manager, told <\/span>Caribbean Life<\/span><\/strong> on Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n

But he said the comparisons to Marley do not stop there.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Dinho’s voice sounds like Marley, as well,” added Muir, stating that “Da Rasta Man is capitalizing on his Marley good looks and sound, securing weekly gigs at four hotel chains on the north coast – Royal Decameron (Montego Bay and Runaway Bay); Moon Palace, Ocho Rios and Secrets Resort in Freeport, Montego Bay.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Dinho said: “Guests would come up to me after my performance asking, ‘Yuh sure yuh nuh related to Bob Marley?’ I get that about three times a day.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Dinho said that, since 2019, he has delivered over 1,800 Marley-inspired performances with his three young backup singers (the I Threes).<\/span><\/p>\n

“It is a very dynamic show,” he said. “Sometimes, I have the whole audience on their feet dancing.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It’s hard work, as we do as many as five shows per week, but we love it, as we are trying to represent reggae as the world sees it,” he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

New York-based, Jamaican-born entertainment promoter Anthony “The ER Guru” Turner told <\/span>Caribbean Life<\/span><\/strong>, “Dinho is looking to blow up his solo career as an aspiring singer-songwriter and expand his growing fan base with a soon-to-be-released reggae ballad, ‘Fallen For You,’ that will be released on the World Universal Record label.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The video for the song is already in the can and will be released very soon,” he added. “We plan to shop into some of the major TV platforms here in the tri-state and schedule some radio interviews here as well. His first album <\/span>is scheduled<\/span> to drop in June this year.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Turner said Dinho, “the Jamaican reggae sensation, is not your average singer.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Born in Royal Flat, Mandeville, he said Dinho’s life journey has <\/span>been marked<\/span> by struggles and triumphs that have shaped his unique artistic perspective.<\/span><\/p>\n

“He embodies the spirit of redemption through his powerful music and confessed that he <\/span>was exposed<\/span> to the rich cultural heritage of Jamaica music from a very young age,” Turner said.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It was, however, reggae that truly resonated with him, particularly songs by Marley, Peter Tosh, and Burning Spear,” he added. “Their messages of unity, justice, and spirituality struck a chord that inspired him to create music that he is confident will uplift and empower youngsters globally.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Muir said Dinho’s musical journey began in the early 2000s.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said Dinho released the single “Cherish,” the video for which was featured on Reggaeville.<\/span><\/p>\n

The song garnered critical acclaim and attracted the attention of producer Muir, who expressed an interest in producing Dinho’s first album.<\/span><\/p>\n

Muir said Dinho continued with singles “Journey” and “Greatness,” which “has helped to solidify his status as a rising star with a wicked pen.<\/span>“<\/span><\/p>\n

Dinho has worked with several producers, including Muir, for this new project.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dinho said the yet-titled album is likely to include “Journey<\/span>“<\/span> and “Cherish,” as well as “River<\/span>“<\/span> and “Greatness,” which were released in 2024 and whetted his appetite for studio work.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I love the (recording) studio; that’s my getaway and creative space,<\/span>“<\/span> Dinho said. “I have developed a sound and movement that the fans love.”<\/span><\/p>\n
