Jamaican reggae artist Minna LaFortune unveiled her latest single, “The Message,” on Thursday <\/span>as<\/span> a musical tribute to reggae artists who spread love, unity, and musical diversity across the globe.<\/span><\/p>\n

“This heartfelt track is a musical essay and tribute dedicated to all the reggae bands, particularly from Jamaica, who have traveled the globe, bringing the vibrant energy of reggae music to millions,” La Fortune, a Brooklyn resident, told <\/span>Caribbean Life<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Through their tireless efforts, these artists have shared reggae’s uplifting rhythms and profound messages of love, unity, and resilience,” she added.<\/span><\/p>\n

LaFortune, a prolific artist currently working on completing her third album, said she continues to create music that touches hearts and inspires positive change.<\/span><\/p>\n

LaFortune said “The Message” is “a testament to reggae’s universal power.”<\/span><\/p>\n

With poetic lyrics and an infectious rhythm, the song, she said, highlights the journeys of reggae bands that have carried their music across continents “from the mountains to the seas.”<\/span><\/p>\n

As the lyrics proclaim, “We carry the message from coast to coast, moving east, west, north and south,” LaFortune said the song “salutes the mission of reggae artists who bring their music to those who need it most.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The track emphasizes reggae’s inclusivity and power to connect people from all walks of life,” she added.<\/span><\/p>\n

With lines like “We don’t care if they look like we, we are following our destiny,” LaFortune said “The Message” speaks to “the unifying nature of reggae music, which transcends cultural, racial and linguistic barriers to create a sense of oneness for everyone who listens.”<\/span><\/p>\n

She said “The Message” also highlights reggae’s versatility by “seamlessly incorporating elements from other genres,” including rock, jazz, hip-hop, and R&B.<\/span><\/p>\n

The track’s standout feature includes dynamic guitar riffs and a captivating guitar solo by producer Lees Holness, “showcasing how reggae music can embrace and blend with rock and roll,” LaFortune said.<\/span><\/p>\n

“This fusion further emphasizes reggae’s ability to adapt, innovate, and resonate with diverse audiences while staying true to its roots,” she said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

LaFortune said “The Message” also honors the contributions of legendary Jamaican reggae artists who have paved the way and contemporary bands who continue to represent the culture.<\/span><\/p>\n

“This song celebrates their unwavering dedication to sharing reggae’s ability to uplift and inspire,” she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, LaFortune said “The Message” underscores “reggae’s role as more than just music.<\/span><\/p>\n
