Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson on Wednesday joined Principal of the Family Life Academy Charter School II Valerie Marchionno, Assistant Principal Marilea Alberto and Music Director Nicholas Diaz in debuting her first-ever Winter Holiday Concert, \u201cTis the Season.\u201d<\/p>\n
The two-hour-long event took place in the Rotunda of Bronx Borough Hall, 851 Grand Concourse.<\/p>\n
Gibson, the daughter of a Trinidadian-immigrant father, told Caribbean Life<\/strong> that over 300 parents, relatives and caregivers gathered to hear more than 200 Kindergarten through 5th Grade students, enrolled at the Mott Haven school, sing holiday hits.<\/p>\n They included \u201cJoy to the World,\u201d \u201cSleigh Ride,\u201d \u201cHolidays,\u201d \u201cLight of Kwanzaa,\u201d \u201cReady,\u201d \u201cSteady Go Now!,\u201d \u201cMele Kalikimaka,\u201dand others.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was a true joy to celebrate the holidays with over 200 students from Family Life Academy Charter School II at our first-ever Winter Holiday Concert, held in the Rotunda of Bronx Borough Hall,\u201d Gibson said.<\/p>\n \u201cThrough their performances of beloved songs, these students brought the light, hope and wonder that this season brings to so many of us,\u201d she adding, extending \u201cheartfelt thanks\u201d to Principal Marchionno, Assistant Principal Alberto, Music Director Diaz, \u201cand the more than 300 parents, relatives, and caretakers who helped make this event a tremendous success.<\/p>\n \u201cWishing everyone a safe, joyful Kwanzaa, Christmas, Chanukah, and Three Kings Day,\u201d Gibson continued.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Bronx Borough President Vanessa L.
