Mr. Lexx drops ‘Slow Mo’

Written by on March 4, 2026

Jamaican dancehall heavyweight Mr. Lexx, also known as Lexxus, returns with a brand-new single titled “Slow Mo,” released on all major digital platforms on Feb. 27, 2026.
Produced by Right Energie and D3Roux, Brooklyn-based, Haitian-American entertainment publicist Marie Driven told Caribbean Life on Monday, Mar. 2, that “’Slow Mo’ showcases Mr. Lexx’s gritty, unmistakable vocal delivery paired with contemporary production, offering a smooth yet commanding record that reflects his continued evolution while staying rooted in authentic dancehall energy.”
Driven, managing partner of Playbook MG, a Brooklyn-based entertainment publicity company, said that Mr. Lexx recently delivered a high-impact performance at Red Bull Culture Clash, “commanding the stage and energizing the crowd with his signature intensity and performance style.”
She said Mr. Lexx is also confirmed to appear on the Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise 2026, “further cementing his continued relevance on major international platforms.”
Emerging as a dominant force during the late 1990s and early 2000s, Driven said Mr. Lexx earned recognition for his “distinctive rap-deejay style, high-energy performances, and commanding stage presence.
“Often referred to as ‘The Prince of Dancehall,’ he notably re-established himself as a major presence at the legendary 1998 Sting concert, a defining moment in modern dancehall history,” Driven said.
She said Mr. Lexx is “widely respected for a string of early-2000s hits, particularly collaborations produced by King Jammy and Steely & Clevie, which helped expand dancehall’s international reach.”
Driven said Mr. Lexx’s global impact includes his feature on Major Lazer’s single “Hold the Line”, alongside Santigold, which received a 2009 MTV Video Music Award nomination for Best Breakthrough Video.
She said he also contributed to the GRAMMY-nominated compilation album Red Star Sounds: Def Jamaica.
“Known for incorporating acting and dance into his live performances, Mr. Lexx continues to stand out as a dynamic performer whose influence spans generations,” Drivn said. “’Slow Mo’ marks his latest release as he builds momentum into 2026, with new music and high-profile appearances for global audiences.”
